I had the pleasure of hanging out at the market during the music of The Bellingham Youth Jazz Band. I picked up some blueberries, strawberries and ate some delicious fried bread...Mmmmmm. I will be back for more of that!! here are a few photos
Some days have past since the market opened an I have made it to all except one. I have enjoyed myself each time and had a chance to visit with many people along the way. I have enjoyed a mushroom burger every time from Devine Gardens YUM!!!
Whatcom Locavore has a great recipe for this burger here
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of a quote of the day. A young gal, I'm guessing about 5 years old, added to a conversation about fun. "When you're a kid, everything is fun."
In spite of clouds and a few raindrops, the market opened with great enthusiasm. Mayor Gary Jensen officiated the opening ceremony and pronounced the market open.
I had to rush off to another obligation soon after the opening ceremony and came back for the last hour or so in the afternoon. I spoke to many of the vendors and everyone was upbeat and felt the first day was very successful. Many folks were still walking through and stopping to check out the booths. It was a great day being a member of the Ferndale community.
